The American Prospect magazine began publication
in 1990 as an authoritative magazine of liberal ideas,
committed to an enriched democracy, a just society and
a practical progressive politics. The Prospect was founded
by Robert Reich, Paul Starr, and Robert Kuttner. Today,
the Prospect is a monthly magazine with a print circulation
of 55,000 and a daily Web magazine (www.prospect.org)
with 450,000 visitors each month. Kuttner and Starr continue
to serve as co-editors, with Executive Editor Michael
Tomasky.

The Center for American Progress is a nonpartisan research
and educational institute. Our mission is to join the
national debate and promote ideas and policies that best
reflect the aspirations and interests of the American
people. We seek to find progressive, pragmatic solutions
to the greatest domestic and international challenges
facing our country, including the economy and budget,
tax policy, education, health care, the environment, national
defense, homeland security, civil rights and civil liberties.
The Center for American Progress aims to educate the public
about progressive policy ideas as well as the consequences
of conservative approaches. Our fellows and experts are
crafting bold, forward-thinking and sensible policy visions
rooted in mainstream American values, unifying a popular
majority around a progressive agenda.

The Century Foundation conducts public policy research
and analyses of economic, social, and foreign policy issues,
including inequality, retirement security, election reform,
media studies, homeland security, and international affairs.
The foundation produces books, reports, and other publications,
convenes task forces and working groups, and operates
eight informational websites. With offices in New York
City and Washington D.C., The Century Foundation is nonprofit
and nonpartisan and was founded in 1919 by Edward A. Filene.
